Employees and students encouraged to use new DHHR online tool to pre-register for COVID-19 vaccination

covid-19 vaccine

WVU employees and students who are West Virginia residents are encouraged to sign up for COVID-19 vaccinations through the pre-registration portal launched this week by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The online tool at https://dhhr.wv.gov/COVID-19/Pages/Vaccine.aspx enables West Virginians to pre-register for COVID-19 vaccination and receive updates through text, phone and/or email.

This week the State’s free vaccination clinics are for West Virginians who are 65 years of age and older. Additional information is available at vaccinate.wv.gov or you may call 833-734-0965 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Vaccination registration is also available through the new consolidated clinic available at the Morgantown Mall in Monongalia County. Those who want to be notified when the vaccine is available through that site should visit www.wvumedicine.org/vaccine, and fill out the online form. Once notified that more vaccine is available, an appointment can be scheduled on the same website. Students and employees may also call 833-795-SHOT (833-795-7468) to schedule their appointment. As in the past, the clinic will not accept any walk-in appointments, and patients must present a valid West Virginia ID or U.S. passport and a utility bill with a West Virginia address to verify West Virginia residence.

Over the past several weeks, WVU employees who met certain age requirements (50 and older) were sent an email questionnaire from WVU (covidvaccine@mail.wvu.edu) to indicate their interest in the vaccine. West Virginia resident employees who returned the questionnaire but have not received notification of a vaccination appointment are also encouraged to pre-register through the DHHR portal. This is to maximize the opportunities to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Those employees and students who are not West Virginia residents should contact their local health department for guidance on COVID-19 vaccine registration options.
