Amid the social unrest that has gripped the world in recent months, the campus community is invited to join a panel discussion "Integrating Allyship as a Catalyst for Change” Monday, Jan. 18, from 2-3:30 p.m. via Zoom.

The panel, moderated by the VISTA Collaborative member Joan Simonetti, will include leaders who have recognized the importance of allyship, the power of diversity and the effectiveness of continuous learning.

Panelists include:

  • Dean of Students Corey Farris

  • Delegate Danielle Walker

  • Race scholar Jason Ottley

  • BIPOC Specialist Felicia Hooper

  • Extension Agent Dave Roberts

The Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday marks the day of service that celebrates the civil rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

To embody this challenge, the VISTA Collaborative at the WVU Center for Service and Learning is encouraging all faculty, staff, students and community members to ‘make it a day on’ and engage in the MLK Day of Service virtual panel discussion.

Sign up for the panel discussion.
