Toy Mountaintain ENEWS

Student Engagement and Leadership and the Student Government Association has kicked off its annual toy drive to help build Toy Mountain. WVU faculty, staff and students are encouraged to help by donating unwrapped toys valued at $5 or more.

If you would like to donate, you can either drop off or mail in your toy to the Student Engagement and Leadership Office, Room 162 of the Mountainlair, 1550 University Ave. Morgantown, WV  26506, or visit our Amazon Wish List to order a toy that will be delivered to our office. If ordering from the Wish List, please have items arrive by Nov. 16.

“The program has had a tremendous impact on the Morgantown community during the holiday season,” said Thanh Le, director of WVU Student Engagement and Leadership. “During this unique year, we truly believe that providing support for this initiative is more important than ever. The Christian Help Distribution Center assisted more than 1,000 children last holiday season and many of those donated gifts and toys came from our Toy Mountain program.”

The student organization whose members donate the most toys to Toy Mountain will receive a $300 grant, second place will receive a $200 grant and third place a $100 grant.

Since 2000, the two groups have encouraged the WVU community to donate toys throughout the holiday season, which are given to Christian Help as part of its annual holiday toy distribution for underprivileged children in and around the Morgantown area.
