Register for virtual Narcan training

naloxone

Faculty and staff are invited to register for one of WELLWVU’s virtual Narcan trainings Nov. 4 and Nov. 10 from 3-3:45 p.m.

In this training, participants will learn how to help counteract the effects of an opioid overdose while waiting for emergency medical assistance to arrive. Naloxone, also known as Narcan, can be administered through the nasal passages to someone who is found unconscious from overdosing on heroin or other opioid drugs, including prescription medications such as codeine, fentanyl, morphine and oxycodone.

WELLWVU has 120 kits of intranasal Naloxone to distribute to any individual who participates in this approximately 30-minute training session. During the training, attendees will be taught what signs to look for in an opioid overdose, how to use the medication, and other important information.
