Faculty, residents, staff and guests gathered at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place on June 13 for the annual Department of Otolaryngology Alumni Conference.
The event honored the team’s incredible achievements while celebrating faculty leaders and graduating residents.
The following graduates were honored as they move onto new roles:
Dr. Erica McArdle will now serve as a faculty member in the Department of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Ian Sunyecz will also serve as a faculty member in the Department of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Moaz Sinan is returning to his home state of Michigan to begin his practice.
The five Resident Research Awards, honoring exceptional dedication to advancing medical knowledge and innovation, were presented to the following:
In recognition of their excellence in clinical practice and community service, Drs. Dewey and Nieto Rickenback received the Oliverio Clinical Award.
The Teaching Award was presented to Dr. Christopher Bailey, associate program director, for outstanding mentorship and a commitment to educating the next generation.
The Service Award was presented to Shannon Thompkins, celebrating her dedicated service to the department and a tireless commitment to patient care.
The Chairman Award was presented to Dr. Hussein Jaffal, associate program director and chief of pediatric otolaryngology, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and service excellence.
