Faculty, staff and student workers on all WVU campuses will have access to the new Applaud HR system by Tuesday morning Oct. 13. Applaud originally was planned to roll out across the WVU system on Monday, Oct. 12. However, this brief postponement will ensure the launch doesn’t interfere with completion of the payroll signoff period.
The current Web Clock, Leave Request and Designee functions will be offline beginning Sunday morning, Oct. 11, and all other MAP-related services will be unavailable starting around 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12. The Applaud software platform will be available to all employees on Tuesday morning.
Hourly employees will need to use wall clocks or work with their supervisors to record time while these services are offline. Supervisors should plan to approve all pending leave requests and time cards by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, to ensure these items are transferred into the new system.
Applaud will make many administrative tasks easier to perform. You will get to Applaud the same way you currently get to MyTime, through links in portal.wvu.edu, and all features will remain in place. You will need to use WVU’s Virtual Private Network to access the MAP-related services, as you do now.
With Applaud’s intuitive design, most employees will need little to no training on the platform, but those who want a preview can sign up for a 30-minute, virtual demonstrations on Zoom on Oct. 7 and 8. You can also watch a brief overview video and review frequently asked questions.
Information Technology Services, Talent and Culture, Shared Services, and the Finance and Payroll teams have collaborated on both the development of Applaud and on the recent training of supervisors systemwide. The decision to delay the original launch date was based in part on feedback from those sessions.
Detailed instructions for performing various administrative tasks in Applaud are in the Shared Services Knowledge Base.
