In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, members of West Virginia University Shared Services and the Division of Talent and Culture have partnered with WorkForce West Virginiaand the West Virginia National Guard to assist with processing unemployment claims across the state.
Lisa Sharpe, executive director of Shared Services Operations, said, “Following Gov. Jim Justice’s recent announcement directing additional resources to support WorkForce West Virginia, we saw this as an opportunity to further our land-grant mission and support our fellow West Virginians in their time of need.”
WorkForce West Virginia also is implementing a new cloud-based solution to manage incoming calls and provide enhanced call metrics. A small group of WVU agents tested the technology earlier this week, and the WVU team became the first support group in the state to deploy and begin using the new solution on Tuesday, April 14.
Shared Services will continue to offer faculty and staff assistance through the WVU Salesforce Community, by phone 304-293-6006 or by email at sharedservices@mail.wvu.edu. However, depending on the volume of requests, faculty and staff potentially may experience longer response and processing times for their shared services requests.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to support members of our community during these uncertain times.
