Mental Health Awareness Month serves as an important reminder to prioritize our mental well-being, both in and out of the workplace.

At WVU, we recognize that mental health is essential to overall wellness and plays a crucial role in our ability to thrive personally and professionally.

Whether you are seeking help with stress management, counseling services or wellness programs, the Benefits Strategy team encourages you to take an active step toward your well-being by exploring the various resources available as part of your total rewards package.

Connect with support resources. The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program provides a confidential and safe environment to discuss issues and receive resource recommendations. Each employee or dependent may schedule up to three visits with an FSAP counselor per year, free of charge.

Participate in a wellness program or class. Through a partnership with WVU Medicine, faculty and staff are welcome to participate in a variety of wellness programs and classes. Be sure to register for the annual Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days before May 29.

Rest and recharge. Summer is an ideal time to step away from work to recharge, refresh and maintain a healthy work-life balance. The University offers a comprehensive leave program for leave-eligible employees, and we encourage you to check your leave balance in Applaud and coordinate with your supervisor when scheduling leave time. Note that any unused floating holiday hours will expire June 30.
