During these uncertain times, it’s now more important than ever to “buy local.”
The WVU Organic Farm is now selling shares for its community supported agriculture program. Each share costs $400 and guarantees one box of vegetables each week for four months this summer. Current vegetable growing plans include:
• Summer Squash
• Zucchini
• Slicing tomatoes
• Cherry tomatoes
• Bell peppers
• Sweet peppers
• Jalapenos
• Spinach
• Kale
• Head lettuce
• Potatoes
• Garlic
• Onions
• Sweet potatoes
• Broccoli
• Cabbage
• Sugar snap peas
• Snow peas
The work required to run the CSA including seeding, transplanting, cultivating and harvesting provides hands-on experience to WVU students interested in sustainable or small-scale agriculture.
