launch lab

The March Idea Challenge, scheduled for March 28, is a national pitch competition open to all students from all universities. To apply, students must create a 90-second video that provides a description of their ideas, as well as the problem it solves or the opportunity it creates.

Their ideas will be judged on the uniqueness, feasibility and the investment opportunity they create. Of the applicants, eight will be selected to compete in the event.

The pitching portion of the event will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will consist of three rounds of pitching:

  • ROUND 1 (10 -11:30 a.m.) - Eight participants compete with 5 minute pitch followed by 5 minute Q&A

  • ROUND 2 (11:30 a.m.to noon) - Top four participants compete with 3 minute pitch followed by 3 minute Q&A

  • ROUND 3 (noon to 12:30 p.m.) - Top two participants compete with 2-minute pitch with no Q&A session

  • NETWORKING LUNCHEON (12:30-1:30 p.m.)

Everyone who enters the competition will receive a portion of the $6,000 in prizes. The further the participants make it in the challenge, the more money they will receive. Winners will be selected by a combination of judges’ scoring and audience votes.

Applications are open now and will close on March 8 at 11:59 p.m. Encourage students to apply before it’s too late.
