As part of the RecycleMania 2020 program, the Office of Sustainability is holding a special recycling event Friday (Feb. 28), from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mountainlair.
Stop by our table in front of the information desk and fill your personal reusable mug with some free hot cocoa or hot cider. (We also will have a limited number of reusable mugs for giveaway.)
While you are there, take the opportunity to test your recycling knowledge with a fun challenge. You also will have the chance to upcycle (i.e., the process of transforming by-products, waste material or unwanted products into new material) something to take home.
We are off to a great start for the RecycleMania 2020 program. In our first two weeks of the competition, we have already recycled 44,000 pounds of single-stream recycling towards our goal of 250,000 pounds.
As a reminder, participation in RecycleMania 2020 is easy. Between now and Sunday, March 29, drop off your plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, paper and drink cartons in one of our more than 1,000 recycling bins across our Morgantown campus.
We look forward to seeing you at the Mountainlair on Friday. In the meantime, check out this video to learn more about how recycling works at WVU.
