Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and make some snowflakes to prepare for the upcoming snowy season Sunday (Nov. 17) from 2-4 p.m at The Art Museum of WVU. The “Snow Much Fun!” family event is inspired by the Museum’s newest exhibition, Cut Up/Cut Out.
All the works of art in the exhibition feature artists who use cutting as part of their artistic practice. Visitors can gain inspiration from the exhibition’s intricate works of cut paper. Then, they can head over to the Museum Education Center to make their own paper snowflakes and other paper-cutting art projects. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided. This event is free and open to the public
The Art Museum and Museum Education Center are located near the corner of Patteson Drive and Morrill Way at the Evansdale Campus North Entrance. Parking is available in short-term lots ST-1 and ST-9, with pay stations, one located near Patteson Drive and the other near the new Evansdale Crossing building.
The Cut Up/Cut Out Exhibition runs from Oct. 12-Dec. 8 and was organized by Carrie Lederer, Curator of Exhibitions, Bedford Gallery at the Lesher Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek, California. The exhibition is sponsored by Laurie Erickson and Gordon Gee. Additional support provided by the Friends of the Art Museum of WVU, William and Linda Hagerty, and the Joyce Ice Fund for Exhibitions and Acquisitions.
