Student Engagement and Leadership and the Student Government Association has kicked off its annual toy drive to help build Toy Mountain. Toy Mountain will be constructed from community donations until Dec. 10 in the Mountainlair. WVU faculty, staff and students are encouraged to help by donating unwrapped toys valued at $5 or more.
If you would like to donate, you can either drop off your toy in the Student Engagement and Leadership Office, Room 162 of the Mountainlair, or visit our Amazon Wish List at to order a toy that will be delivered to the Student Engagement and Leadership Office. If ordering from Amazon, please have items arrive by December 6.
Toys will also be collected at the women’s basketball game against Presbyterian on Nov. 10 and the men’s basketball against Rhode Island on Dec. 1 at the WVU Coliseum.
“The program has had a tremendous impact on the Morgantown community during the holiday season,” said Thanh Le, director of WVU Student Engagement and Leadership. “The Christian Help Distribution Center assisted more than 1,000 children last holiday season and many of those donated gifts and toys came from our Toy Mountain program.”
Since 2000, the two groups have encouraged the WVU community to donate toys throughout the holiday season, which are given to Christian Help as part of its annual holiday toy distribution for underprivileged children in and around the Morgantown area.
