WVU will celebrate its long history of educating first-generation college students, nearly a quarter of its student population, Friday (Nov. 8) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mountainlair.
The FirstGen staff in the Office of Student Success and Support Services will be set up near Hatfields with buttons and cards; at 11:30 a.m., they will have sweet treats to offer, as well.
Nov. 8 is the National First Generation College Day, honoring the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
