Hunger and Homelessness Awareness

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness. Participating groups spend the week holding a series of educational, service, fundraising, and advocacy events.

This year, The VISTA Collaborative at the Center for Service and Learning is planning events and activities through the entire week to draw awareness and fight against hunger and homelessness in our own city. 

Events include:

  • Nov. 19 from 5-10 p.m. Tin 202 Fundraiser, 10 percent of all food sales will go directly to Empty Bowls Monongalia

  • Nov.  20, 8:30 p.m. - "Fighting Hunger in Almost Heaven" Benefit Concert at 123 Pleasant StreetTanagra, Intoxicated Zen, and Nae Paugh will perform while all profits go to Empty Bowls Monongalia and United Way. 

Bring two dry food or hygiene product donations in exchange for the door fee of $5.
