Pedestrian and driver safety are critical to providing a safe learning, working and living environment for West Virginia University students, faculty, staff and visitors.
That’s why University Police and Student Government Association have teamed up to distribute pedestrian and driver safety awareness material inside the Mountainlair Sept. 25-26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stop by our table in front of the information desk to place a free reflective Flying WV patch onto your belongings. We also will have reflective Flying WV zipper tags for your backpack or jacket. These items will help you be more visible to drivers at night.
As a reminder, if you are driving around campus and Morgantown, be sure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk, avoid distractions and obey all traffic lights and signals. And if you are walking around campus, only cross at marked crosswalks and intersections and avoid distractions, such as using a phone or listening to music.
More pedestrian and driver safety tips and other safety and wellness information can be found at safety.wvu.edu. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook too.
We look forward to seeing you at the Mountainlair, and thank you for doing your part to promote a safer WVU.
