WVU Alert test planned for Wednesday

WVU alert

To ensure proper communication during an emergency, West Virginia University will conduct a test of the WVU Alert system on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at 11 a.m.

Faculty and staff must manually register for the emergency messaging system. If you are already registered, we encourage you to update your information and ensure it is correct prior to the test. WVU Alert messages are only sent when there is an imminent threat to the safety of the campus community or when the University is delayed or closed due to weather conditions.

In addition to text and email messages, WVU Alerts are sent out through the LiveSafe app. Other app features include the abilities to anonymously report tips to WVU Police through direct two-way communication and virtually walk home with friends or family.
