Established to serve students in need of assistance, The Rack provides non-perishable and perishable food items to students at two locations on campus.
Faculty and staff can drop off items at The Rack or donate through the WVU Foundation. The most needed items can also be found and shipped directly to the food pantry through the Amazon Wish List.
“Food insecurity is a real issue for college students, initiating more than 650 food pantries available on campuses nationwide,” assistant director of Student Leadership Development Deron Jackson said. "The Rack serves approximately 100-to-150 students each week and we are working to create a welcoming environment so that students feel supported and comfortable visiting the food pantry.”
Non-perishable items are readily available daily from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday at the student food pantry located in the Student Engagement and Leadership Office of the Mountainlair, and starting Aug. 27, perishable and non-perishable items will also be available at the Arnold Hall distribution center, located at 345 Price Street, every Tuesday and Friday from 2-4 p.m.
