Libraries introducing new Reserves/eReserves software

WVU downtown library

With the start of the new semester, WVU Libraries is introducing new Reserves/eReserves software that provides more computer security than the previous system. Rest assured: any requests you have already submitted into the old system have been added to the new software by Reserves staff.

The new system is called Ares and can be found at ares.lib.wvu.edu or by going to the Course Reserve page on the Libraries’ website. For faculty who have used ILLiad to order items through Interlibrary Loan, the Ares Reserve software will seem very familiar. Ares is a sister software to ILLiad and the two of them have many features in common.

Also, as part of the transition to Ares, Libraries employees are reviewing processes to ensure that we are following copyright guidelines. If you get questions from Reserves staff about any requests you submit, please know that we are making every effort to add the materials you need for class. Sometimes, however, we do need to get more information to ensure that we have limited the copyright liability for the Library and the University.

If you have any questions or problems, please email ereserves@mail.wvu.edu or reach out to Reserves staff at your library:
