West Virginia University Police Department lost a valued member of their team over the weekend with the passing of K9 Blek.

Blek was a 12-year-old narcotics K9, who served with two handlers throughout his career with University Police. Blek’s first handler was Lt. Thomas, who worked with Blek from September 2009 through August 2012.

Sgt. Camden was Blek’s handler from September 2012 until Blek’s retirement in 2016.

After retiring, Blek continued to live with Sgt. Camden and his family. Blek enjoyed playing ball and tagging along to work with Sgt. Camden and K9 Allie.

Blek will be fondly remembered for his service to the University Police team and our campus community.
