The Health Sciences Innovation Center, in partnership with the IDEA Hub, encourages faculty, staff and students to attend the 9th annual West Virginia Bioscience Summit as a part of WVU Demo Day April 25. Faculty, staff and students interested in West Virginia’s biotech industry, discussions on strategies to grow life science businesses in the region and how to utilize Opportunity Zones should attend. Registration is free of charge for students with a valid ID.
In addition, all are welcome to attend a public panel discussion on how to accelerate deal formation within designated West Virginia Opportunity Zones, including how researchers can take advantage of Opportunity Zone funds to turn R&D into new startups. WV Forward, the Office of U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation will participate in the discussion.
Immediately following the panel, the Summit will conclude with a Life Science Research Showcase and Reception featuring faculty-led research teams, academicians, clinicians and companies from around the state showcasing their work to improve human health.
