“Data and Donuts: First Steps with Data Sources and ICPSR”
March 29 from 3-4:30 p.m.
Having trouble finding the data you need for your project? This workshop will describe the data landscape and give you tools to learn how to efficiently find data sources to suit your needs. Workshop will be lecture-based with some hands-on exposure to general resources, ICPSR, WorldBank, UNData, etc.
“Data and Donuts: Text Mining with HathiTrust and Python”
April 5 from 3-4:30 p.m.
An introductory text mining workshop that will demonstrate common methods and tools used in this area of scholarship. Participants will get hands on experience using the text analysis tools provided by the Hathitrust Research Center (HTRC) and using command line to run basic text analysis with PythonAnywhere. No knowledge of text mining, HTRC, or python necessary.
