Workshop to explain how to manage your rights to your published research to be held

Students sitting and working on computers.

In addition to producing scholarship, researchers need to understand how to manage the distribution of their work through publishing and other forms of sharing, such as personal or departmental websites, digital repositories like SSRN and arXiv, and academic networking sites like ResearchGate and Academia.edu. In this one-hour Research Commons workshop, you will learn about your rights as an academic author, and how these rights can change through the course of publishing your work. You will acquire experience scrutinizing author-publisher agreements, and learn how these agreements impact your ability to lawfully share your work online and elsewhere. You will also learn about strategies for retaining the rights that enable you to share your work in the places that are most important to you. Join us Wednesday, March 6, from 3-4 p.m. in Downtown Campus Library, Room 104.
