The Facilities and Services Unifier project concludes its latest phase at the end of January when the new Facilities Management module goes live. Oracle’s Unifier is an integrated work management platform designed to provide easy-to-use solutions to streamline previously separate business and management processes, improving both efficiency and costs on service requests, projects and inventory.

The FM module allows Facilities and Services to monitor and delegate tasks, log and track inventory, manage assets and respond to customer’s needs more efficiently and effectively. Building managers will have expanded access to their service requests and can log into the system to check on progress. In addition, the application integrates with WVU central functions including Mountaineer Marketplace and MAP. Students will continue to use the Facilities Service Desk for help requests.

Starting in November 2017, Unifier successfully integrated capital projects processes by consolidating requests, estimates, contracts, purchasing, work management, project completion, reporting, assets and warranties under one system. The FM module builds on this work to streamline and standardize processes for Facilities and its customers.

With the success of the Unifier project, Facilities and Services is looking for new ways to improve processes on main and regional campuses. If you'd like to learn more about how Facilities and Services is using Unifier, contact Greg Rose at 304.293.0063.
