Alan Fitch, a physician assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University along with his wife Cathy Motley-Fitch, a performer and voice teacher will present their story, "Lola's Song,” a discussion about hospital safety Feb. 16 at noon in HSC Auditorium 1905.

The workshop will take place on Saturday (Feb. 3) at West Virginia University’s Erickson Alumni Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The competitions are hosted annually by the BrickStreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which operates out of the WVU College of Business and Economics.
A resurgence in popularity of locally grown, quality food has led to farmers markets and food related festivals springing up all across the Mountain State. The marquee educational event organized and hosted by the WVU Extension Service Small Farm Center is the West Virginia Small Farm Conference with more than 110 classes and nine conference tracks for farmers to take advantage of to help their operations run more efficiently and profitably. The conference takes place in Morgantown at the Morgantown Marriott Waterfront Place Feb. 21-24.
Voting is complete in the special election for the Classified Staff Board of Governors Representative position. Lisa Martin, Senior Special Event Coordinator with University Events will represent classified staff on the main and divisional campuses through June 30, 2019. Martin will assume the role after a five-day certification period.
VU Libraries and the Art in the Libraries committee created the WVU Faculty/Staff Exhibition Award to help promote the art and scholarship of faculty and staff. Current faculty and staff may submit ideas for an exhibit that visually showcases their scholarship in new and experimental ways, provides a visual evolution of their work or answers a research question.
