The WVU Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Creative Arts Center Feb. 22. The program will feature selections from the original Star Wars scores by John Williams, including the opening title sequence and Leia’s Theme.

Meshea Poore, a long-time champion of under-represented people, has been named vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion at West Virginia University. Her appointment is effective Monday (Feb. 19).
West Virginia University Wednesday (Feb. 14) placed an immediate moratorium on all social and recruiting activities of the 16 social and social-professional fraternities comprising the Interfraternity Council, enacting a plan to review and strengthen oversight in the wake of concern over continued behavioral issues.
The program is a great opportunity for WVU students to earn some extra money this summer, improve their teaching and leadership skills, and camp in beautiful locations in the West Virginia wilderness, all while spreading their enthusiasm for science to children across the state.
More than 80 national and regional experts will address issues that affect those who live Appalachia every day including: health care; veterans; oil, gas and coal; civil rights; broadband expansion; economic development; criminal justice and educational and legal reform at a symposium to be held at the West Virginia University College of Law later this month.
The University community is invited to attend the "Education, Outreach & Demonstration Playground" presented by Kathryn Williamson and graduate student, Cuyler Beatty, today, (Feb. 15) at 4 p.m. in G09 White Hall.
