Employees recognized at WVASPA/WV TRIO Fall Conference

WVU staff received awards and new leadership positions during the West Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators and West Virginia TRIO fall conference at the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center.

Landon Southerly, WVU Upward Bound director, received the 2018 Pathway to Prominence Award from the West Virginia TRIO Association.

Scott Robertson, the assistant dean of Students for TRIO and Diversity Programs at WVU Tech, was awarded the 2018 Mid-Eastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel Outstanding Service Award.

Kristi Wood-Turner, director of the Center for Service and Learning, was selected as president-elect of WVASPA.

Cindy Drumm, director of Student Support Services, was selected to serve as the president-elect of WV TRIO.

The West Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators is the state’s student affairs and student services professional organization. TRIO is a federal program that serves students from disadvantaged backgrounds and the West Virginia TRIO Association provides professional staff development to those working in this area.
