iServe launches ‘Service Sprint,’ ‘In the Spirit’ service initiatives

Service Sprint logo - Fall 2018

With the end of semester approaching, the Center for Service and Learning is mindful that students may be looking for opportunities to finish service requirements for courses, majors or other requirements. Students, faculty and staff may also be looking for fun, stress-relieving ways to spend the last few days on campus. To that end, the iServe team has put together a quick-search tool for volunteer service opportunities or "Service Sprint," that are available over the final week of the semester.

Find Service Sprint opportunities.

A second initiative, "In the Spirit, Holiday Service," is a call to complete at least 12 hours of service over the upcoming Winter Break. Those who do will earn a digital Impact Recognition badge in iServe and be entered for a drawing for a t-shirt.  A special search is available for holiday service needs, but any service completed during the break period will count towards it's completion.

This follows the successful challenge to WVU students, faculty and staff to show how Mountaineers “Give Thanks” by asking them complete five hours of service or more over the Fall Break.

The Center for Service and Learning provides WVU students the opportunity and guidance to become civically engaged citizens, scholars, and leaders through interdisciplinary events. Including but not limited to service learning, research, volunteerism and partnerships.
