At WVU, our shared values of Service, Curiosity, Respect, Accountability and Appreciation define us. They represent who we are and what we aspire to be. And by living our values every day, we can further our land-grant mission and create a positive workplace for the approximately 8,000 faculty and staff members who call our University home.
The WVU Employee Code of Conduct defines what it means to live like a Mountaineer by describing how faculty and staff should interact with all members of our University community, including students, other employees and visitors. The document was developed in response to recent WVU Culture Survey results and focus groups with faculty and staff, which identified coaching and feedback as an opportunity for the University.
The Division of Talent and Culture wanted to ensure the Code of Conduct reflected the diverse views of the entire WVU family. That’s why we gathered input from approximately 300 faculty and staff members across more than 40 schools, divisions and departments in developing the final version of the document.
Throughout the next several months, we will be sharing more information about the Code of Conduct and what it means to live like a Mountaineer.
In the meantime, Vice President of Talent and Culture Cris DeBord talks about the Code with Inside WVU today host April Kaull. Watch the video.
