Paying it forward: Frankie Sines honors Kevin Berry with a 2018 WVU Values Coin

In recognition of Boss’s Day this week, Frankie Sines, administrative secretary at the WVU Alumni Association, presented her former boss, Kevin Berry, with a 2018 WVU Values Coin.

Frankie chose to recognize Kevin, who serves as associate director and chief operating officer of the Alumni Association, for his tireless efforts to advance the University and for living WVU’s core values of Service, Curiosity, Respect, Accountability and Appreciation.

“The Alumni Association is a relatively small team. And whenever someone has moved on to another job, Kevin always has picked up the reigns until the position is filled,” Frankie said. “If anyone has a problem, Kevin also is the go-to guy – he never asks anyone to do anything he would not do himself.”

Frankie was a recipient of a 2017 WVU Values Coin. Throughout last year, senior leaders awarded 150 commemorative coins to faculty and staff who go above and beyond to make our University community a better place by living WVU’s core values.

Throughout 2018, recipients of the 2017 coins were asked to demonstrate WVU’s value of Appreciation and “pay it forward” by identifying other faculty and staff who embody our values and presenting them with a 2018 WVU Values Coin.

Frankie said, “When thinking about who I wanted to present with the 2018 WVU Values Coin, Kevin was the first person who came to mind. I wanted to wait until the right time, and Boss’s Day seemed like a great opportunity to honor Kevin for everything he does for the Alumni Association and the University.”

If you were a recipient of a 2017 or 2018 WVU Values Coin, be sure to register it.
