LaunchLab hosting trademark symposium to be held

West Virginia University Libraries and the LaunchLab are co-sponsoring a trademark symposium titled “Business Formation and Trademark Registration… A Symposium: What Every Entrepreneur & Small Business Should Know” Oct.18 from 3 to 4:45 p.m. at the LaunchLab in Evansdale Crossing, Suite 413.

The free symposium will offer students, entrepreneurs and small businesses an opportunity to better understand the path to commercial success, with a focus on entity formation and trademark registration.

Keynote speaker Craig Morris, managing attorney for Trademark Educational Outreach for the United States Patent & Trademark Office, will deliver a presentation titled “Trademarks: The Keys to Commercialization.”

Additional speakers include Marian Armour-Gemmen, WVU patent & trademark librarian, who will address searching for trademarks within the USPTO, and attorney Nancy Trudel, who will present “15 Steps to Establishing a Successful Company.”
