The Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services will recognize National Suicide Prevention Month at the Mountainlair.
Stop by and see us Tuesday (Sept. 25) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Mountainlair at our Suicide Awareness Table. We’ll provide local resources and be there to show our support for all Mountaineers on campus who may be struggling or know someone who is.
Showing support can be as simple as sending a message. Your words could be exactly what a student in crisis needs to hear. We will be doing Hope Messages on Stones. Write a message of hope and take a message of hope. Feel free to come by and support our students and participate in the Hope Messages on Stones.
Military and Student Veteran populations will also be honored at our table. Brenda Everett, recently hired as Behavioral Therapist for Student Veterans at the new Veterans Resource Center, shared that there “will also be additional resources and materials for the Military and Student Veteran population to honor our commitment to supporting our student service members on campus.”
