A completely redesigned new employee orientation program, New Mountaineer Onboarding, went live July 9. We’re rolling out the gold and blue carpet for our new faculty and staff. Established faculty and staff are invited to experience the new program as well.

The new, interactive NMO program helps to immediately assimilate new faculty and staff into the WVU culture and values, reaffirm that they have made an excellent decision by choosing WVU as their employer and provides important and useful information that they need to be successful in the first few months of employment. This positive onboarding experience increases employee engagement and helps new faculty and staff feel welcome and sets the stage for early success in their career.
Purpose
Because many established faculty and staff are curious to have the same NMO experience that new hires have, special sessions of NMO are being offered exclusively for our existing employees. Participants will attend the exact program as new hires.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
See first-hand how new hires become familiar with practical information about WVU, its culture, mission, and values in a new and fun way.
Learn how each new employee plays a part in the success of our University.
Learn interesting facts about the University by playing the “Did You Know?” game, see new videos that describe the One WVU mission, and experience how we ensure that new employees get off to a good start. You’ll also hear about the key departments and services around the University are important to new hires.
