Bob Gradeck, manager of the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center at the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Social and Urban Research, will give a talk on making data available and useful to the public Wednesday (March 28) at noon. in the Mountainlair's Rhododendron Room.
The Regional Data Center is a collaborative open data partnership of the University, Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh. In his talk, Gradeck will share background information about how the project came about and discuss how he and the project team assemble data and share it with users. He will also cover the different ways he and his project partners assess opportunities to use data to solve community problems and provide support to make civic administrative data useful and accessible to as many people as possible.
The brown bag seminar is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
