With every aspect of our lives subject to recommender systems, one professor will discuss the logic behind them at the next Honors College Faculty Fellows lecture on March 28, 5 p.m., in the Rhododendron Room of the Mountainlair. Dr. Nanda Surendra, associate professor of management information systems in the College of Business and Economics will discuss how data analysis and information filtering works to push relevant information to us. Participants can bring a laptop and stay after the lecture for a tutorial on the basics of the Python programming language. As part of his fellowship, Surendra developed an innovative course for Honors students to introduce them to the topic.
