Lavender Graduation: save the date

For the fifth consecutive year, the LGBTQ+ Center will honor our LGBTQ+ graduating students (undergraduate and graduate) for their accomplishments and for contributing to WVU’s diverse community of gender identities, gender expressions, and sexualities.

Lavender Graduation will be held April 22 in the Mountainlair Ballrooms at 3 p.m. Reception and graduate check-in will begin at 2:30 pm.

Any undergraduate or graduate student who will be graduating in May or August, or has graduated this past December, who wishes to participate in the ceremony will need to pre-register online no later than April 6 with the following information:

  • Chosen name

  • Email

  • Phone Number

  • Degree earning

  • Major/Minor

  • Number of guests

  • Academic achievements

  • Outstanding service

  • Other community involvement

  • If you identify as an ally, share with us how you support and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

We will send you a confirmation email April 9 with additional information. Each graduate will receive a certificate of recognition and rainbow honor cords that can be worn at WVU’s Commencement Ceremony.
