A statewide walkout, specifically for Pre-K through 12 teachers and support personnel, is planned this Thursday and Friday (Feb. 22-23) from West Virginia’s 55 counties.
The University recognizes that the closure of schools on those days could potentially create childcare challenges for faculty and staff.
If the walkout prevents employees from working as scheduled, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible. Any questions about scheduling issues should be addressed to an employee’s supervisor.
WVU is asking all supervisors to be sensitive to the needs of employees and their children in this situation and offer a flexible work schedule within this week and as long as their operational needs permit.
