WVU provides guidance to faculty/staff ahead of planned teacher walkout

A statewide walkout, specifically for Pre-K through 12 teachers and support personnel, is planned this Thursday and Friday (Feb. 22-23) from West Virginia’s 55 counties.

The University recognizes that the closure of schools on those days could potentially create childcare challenges for faculty and staff.

  • If the walkout prevents employees from working as scheduled, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible. Any questions about scheduling issues should be addressed to an employee’s supervisor.

  • WVU is asking all supervisors to be sensitive to the needs of employees and their children in this situation and offer a flexible work schedule within this week and as long as their operational needs permit.
