Black History Month, The Center for Black Culture and Research and the Creative Arts Center have come together to bring to the stage a dramatic reading of “The Meeting,” Thursday (Feb. 15) at 7 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
WVU students Andra Ward and Lonnie Simmons are the actors.
“The Meeting” is a 1987 American play by Jeff Stetson about an imaginary meeting between Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X in 1965 in a hotel in Harlem during the height of the Civil Rights Movement.
Join us for a reception before and after the performance in a gallery exhibit sponsored by WVU Multicultural Programs in the Potomac Room in the Mountainlair across from the Ballroom:
A gallery exhibition of the Mountainlair's Permanent Art Collection will be featured in the Potomac Room on the second floor of the Mountainlair. This exhibit will show pieces of the collection which have been in storage for nearly 50 years. See more events for Black History Month.
