Workshop on ways to motivate students

The Teaching and Learning Commons is hosting the workshop Motivating Students” Feb. 16  from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 104 of the Downtown Library.

Do you have students who text during your class?  Students who come to class late or leave class early?  Students who lack motivation?  Teaching style, course structure, and informal interactions with students all have an impact on classroom culture and student motivation. This panel discussion will focus on effective classroom management techniques as well as teaching strategies that motivate and engage students. Topics will include identifying and communicating class expectations and procedures, establishing a positive learning environment, and planning for student engagement.
