Ecological chemist to kick off Davis College spring seminar series

Ecological chemist, educator and author Tofazzal Islam, professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University In Bangladesh, will present "Field pathogenomics and open data sharing approaches for rapid determination of genetic identity and origin of emerging fungal diseases: a case study on wheat blast" at 4 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 18) in 4004  Agricultural Sciences. During his presentation, Islam will discuss the fungus wheat blast as a major constraint to wheat production in areas of Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay. His presentation is part of the Division of Plant and Soil Sciences Spring Seminar Series. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.
