In honor of WVU’s 150th birthday celebration, WVU Press is featuring two of their publications on the history of the University. Both books celebrate the intricate and inspiring history of the university while spanning vastly different time periods.
West Virginia University: Symbol of Unity in a Sectionalized State (Professor of History Emeritus William T. Doherty, Jr. and Festus P. Summers) details the University’s history from its inception until the 1980s.
Aspiring to Greatness by Ron Lewis, professor of History emeritus, is a continuation of Doherty and Summers’ work, detailing the University’s history as a land-grant institution from World War II up to present day.
Both books are currently available at a 50% discount off the cover price, directly from WVU Press or through its current catalogue.
