The Return of Forensic Science Saturdays

The Next Generation Forensic Science Initiative will offer educational opportunities in different aspects of forensic science to middle school and high school students throughout the school year. All classes are taught through hands-on, laboratory based activities. Each class will conclude with a case study. The final class titled You Crack the Case will be open to students who participated in at least five classes; this final class will let students apply their accumulated knowledge to a mock crime scene at the WVU Crime Scene Complex. Classes and dates are as follows: Bloodstain Pattern Analysis (Sept. 30), Biological Evidence (Oct. 21), Forensic DNA (Nov. 11), Fingerprint Development (Dec. 9), Fingerprint Identification (Jan. 13), Footwear Impression Evidence (Feb. 17), Firearm Identification (March 24), Crime Scene Investigation (April 21), You Crack the Case (May 5).
