Transportation available for “Save Our State” event, WVU community encouraged to attend

As a response to high interest in West Virginia Governor Jim Justice’s  visit to West Virginia University Wednesday, March 29, WVU will offer free transportation to the event from the Evansdale and Health Sciences campuses, and free parking in the Mountainlair Garage.

Justice is coming to the University as part of his "Save Our State" tour. Faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to join the Governor in the Mountainlair Ballrooms at 2:30 p.m.

  • Shuttle buses will run continuously to and from the Mountainlair from two locations: the front of the Health Sciences Building and Evansdale Crossing, from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
  • Gates at all Personal Rapid Transit stations on campus will be open without charge during the same period.
  • Public parking in the upper level of the Mountainlair Garage is reserved for attendees until 5 p.m. There will be no charge for parking.

Justice will discuss the higher education budget and overall budget issues for the state. Accompanying him will be Department of Health and Human Resources Secretary Bill Crouch and Transportation Secretary Tom Smith to discuss health and infrastructure issues. 

WVU President Gordon Gee, Vice President Clay Marsh, M.D., and Provost Joyce McConnell will welcome the gubernatorial delegation to WVU.
