The search for the University’s next vice president for research is progressing as planned.

The search committee — led by Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Beverly Wendland and search firm Isaacson, Miller — has selected a fourth candidate to visit campus.

The campus community is encouraged to mark their calendars for the candidate’s public presentation from 2:45-3:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in the Mountainlair Gluck Theatre.

The candidate will be announced via ENews on Thursday, Oct. 8, the day prior to their visit.

The announcement will include the candidate’s CV and a Zoom link for the presentation for those who prefer a virtual option.

The new VPR is a key member of the president’s executive leadership team who will focus on elevating and expanding University-wide research infrastructure and high-impact research output.

The search committee includes faculty, staff, students, and administrators with keen knowledge of the University’s R&D portfolio.
