The Center for Community Engagement is hosting “Community Voice First: What Partners Wish Faculty Knew,” a conversation with three community partners who have worked with students in a variety of ways at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, on Zoom.
Panelists will share advice on building meaningful University-community partnerships, focusing on student support, communication and expectations, navigating challenges, and creating mutually beneficial experiences.
Panelists include the following:
Mike Miller, Pantry Plus More
Nancy Young, Mountaineer Spay Neuter Assistance Program
Crissi Kolb, Girls on the Run
Whether you are already working with a community organization or considering incorporating community engagement into a course, this conversation will offer practical insights directly from community partners.
Sessions are recorded and uploaded to the Center for Community Engagement YouTube channel for those who are unable to attend live.
Faculty and staff interested in serving as a future panelist or facilitator, or who have ideas for future topics, are also encouraged to reach out to Aerianna McClanahan, program manager for community-engaged learning, at Aerianna.McClanahan@mail.wvu.edu.
