Input sought for new WVU Faculty and Staff Gardening Club

An outdoor garden in wooden beds.

University faculty and staff are invited to help grow a new campus community centered around gardening, sustainability and food access.

Organizers with the WVU Campus Food Garden, in collaboration with The Rack Student Food Pantry, are exploring the creation of a Faculty and Staff Gardening Club and your input is needed.

This group will provide opportunities to:

     • Connect with colleagues through gardening and outdoor activities.

     • Expand gardening efforts to the Downtown area of campus.

     • Volunteer at the Campus Food Garden.

     • Participate in hands-on workshops, including gardening basics, growing at home, composting and more.

     • Support campus food security efforts through The Rack

An informational meeting will be held in July, with in-person and virtual attendance options.

Items to be discussed during the meeting include:

     • Goals for the club.

     • Volunteer and meeting schedules.

     • Workshop and event ideas.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, all are welcome.

Those interested in joining or learning more are asked to complete this interest form for updates and to help with planning. Your responses will help with meeting time and format selections that work best for everyone.

Let’s grow something great together.
