The Open Enrollment period for Plan Year 2027 for University benefits-eligible faculty and staff is underway and will run through May 15.

Open Enrollment is your only opportunity to add, drop or make changes to many of your benefits for the 2027 plan year without a qualifying life event.

All changes for Plan Year 2027 will be effective July 1.

WVU is providing the following resources to help answer questions and navigate benefit changes.

Benefits website: Review the Benefits Open Enrollment website for detailed information on benefit options and how to make changes.

Email, phone or video chat: Contact Shared Services at SharedServices@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-6006. You can also visit a Shared Services Storefront Monday through Friday at one of the locations around campus to video chat with a specialist.

In-person assistance: Stop by one of the following Open Enrollment drop-in sessions at a Shared Services Storefront to chat with a benefits specialist in person:

  • April 22 from 9-11 a.m. in the Mountainlair, Room G4A.

  • April 23 from 1-3 p.m. in the Health Sciences Center, Room G280-B.

  • April 28 from 9-11 a.m in the NRCCE Building, Room 104.

  • April 30 from 1-3 p.m. One Waterfront Place, Third Floor.

Virtual PEIA Benefits Fair: Attend the virtual PEIA Benefit Fair from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday (April 21). Representatives from PEIA, The Health Plan, Mountaineer Flexible Benefits and their various vendors will be on hand to discuss plan changes and answer questions.
