Scholarly Teaching Conference proposal support available Jan. 15 and 16

The Teaching and Learning Center and the Office of the Provost will host the 2026 Scholarly Teaching Conference across all three WVU campuses from May 13-14.

Faculty, instructors, staff and students are invited to submit poster and concurrent session proposals for the following tracks: 

     • Track 1: Teaching practitioner scholarship on effective teaching practices. 

     • Track 2: Empirical research on teaching and learning.

Submit a proposal by Jan. 31.

Information sessions will offer an overview of the proposal submission process, along with available presentation tracks and formats at 1 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 15) and at 4 p.m. Friday (Jan. 16) on Zoom.

Sarah McCorkle, administrative director of the Teaching and Learning Center, will guide the process.

The conference schedule overview includes the following:

May 13 — Poster sessions will be held on all three campuses. A catered reception will be provided at each campus, followed by a conference keynote and a panel discussion. 

May 14 — The WVU campuses will come together via Zoom for concurrent conference sessions. 

Conference registration will open in March. Updates will be posted to the conference website and shared via ENews and email.
