Mentoring available for first-generation students

Starting college can be exciting, but overwhelming. To help with this transition, WVU is launching a mentorship program for first- and second-year first-generation college students to connect, learn and thrive.

First-gen students will be paired with a third- or fourth-year student or faculty member who is also a first-generation student and who has walked the path they’re just beginning.

Limited to students on the Morgantown Campus, this program is designed for students who genuinely want to be mentored and are ready to engage.

If you know of first-generation students who would benefit from mentoring, encourage them to apply for the program by Jan. 14.
