The album is a heartfelt collaboration between Meredith Augustin and Bob Thompson, who have been working together to create music for more than 30 years.
Augustin, a Morgantown native who now lives in Brooklyn, New York, is a versatile vocalist whose repertoire includes jazz, musical theatre, spirituals and soul.
“After more than 30 years of collaboration, this project is both a reunion and a time capsule — spontaneous, soulful and steeped in trust,” Augustin said. “Over the course of just three hours, eight classic jazz standards were performed and recorded as single takes.”
“What you hear is exactly what happened in that room. No overdubs. No edits. Just one voice, one piano and a deep musical bond more than three decades in the making,” she added.
Recorded live at the Waldomore Library in Clarksburg on Oct. 28, 2023, the album was engineered by Josh Swiger and finished at Bunker Studios in Brooklyn, New York, with mixing by John Davis and mastering by Alex DeTurk.
Mon Hills Music Group, part of the WVU Music Business and Industry Program, is releasing “Just Me and Bob” globally for Augustin.
The album is available on all major streaming platforms.
